Martina Liebig is a freelance illustrator who lives and works in Hamburg. Specialized in Children’s Book illustration, she successfully completed her master’s degree at the University of Applied Science in 2017.
Her work is inspired by nature, and is an exploration of fauna, flora, and natural phenomena within the context of fictional stories. In her illustrations, she emphasizes composition, the relationship between line and shape, a selected color palette, and attention to detail.
Her first full-color picture book, "Flo, der Flummi und das Schnack", published by Kiepenheuer&Witsch in 2020, won several illustration awards in Germany and the US. Her work has been recently shown in exhibitions in New York, Tokyo and Bologna.
